Comments & ID Thoughts
I know for sure that this is a wolf spider, and it resembles the California Wolf Spider, but there are some obvious differences.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This is a Running Crab Spider (Philodromidae, either an Apollophanes or Philodromus sp.)

Neat! And thanks. Out of curiousity, if it’s a crab spider, why have I never seen the distinct sideways walk that crab spiders tend to have?
They’re in a different family. Crab Spiders = family Thomisidae, Running Crab Spiders = family Philodromidae, their name is derived from the Greek “philodromos” and means lover of the race (loves to run).
