Comments & ID Thoughts
Saw early morning walking across a road near crystal springs reservoirs. Thought it might be a funnel web or trap door but really have no clue.

Hi, this looks like one of the Wafer-lid Trapdoor Spiders, Promyrmekiaphila clathrata. I’ll make a page for it so it can be filed later today. Nice find. 🙂

Awesome! Thanks so much for the ID!!!!
Hey random question. Is this a male or female spider? I assumed because it’s outside of it burrow male but I am not sure
Looks feminine but I don’t know them well enough to recognize if it were an immature male.
The mature males of the species at least have a different appearance. https://bugguide.net/node/view/343212/bgimage
Ok perfect, thanks so much for your help!
