I seen this massive (to me) spider just standing there in the gravel right out back garage door. I had no clue what it was doing or if it was even alive still but felt a little like I was being held hostage by it. It would occasionally move a leg but never ran away. Finally I made my break for it and ran into the garage. It turned and appeared to look in the garage but again no movements. After a long time of me waiting for any sign of life I scooped it up to get a better look at it. There was maybe one or two slight movements after putting in the pitcher but I believe it was almost dead by the time I seen it. What kind of spider could this be and is it dangerous? I have a small child and just want to be safe, she’s pretty fearless of just about everything and would probably want to keep it.
