Size was about a quarter in diameter. Greyish brown. ID unknown.

I seriously just killed one of these grey house spiders in my closet. I’m from Alabama.

Unlikely but not impossible. These are an introduced species established on the west coast. I came across a note on BugGuide that they have also been found in one location in FL but haven’t seen ID requests for them from there yet so they’re probably still uncommon.
