I believe it is a Araneus marmoreus (Marbled orb-weaver). However, I noticed Georgia was not one of the states this spider is known to habitat. It was observed along a road as I was walking to work. Handsome spider!

Yes, your spider is Araneus marmorous. They are in Georgia, our site hasn’t had a posting of one from Georgia. I think that keeps them from being listed in our site-specific data. I’m surprised we don’t get A. marmoreus pics from Georgia. Marbled orbweavers are one of the most posted spiders we get, they’re big and neon-colored with huge webs. That gets people interested!
