I'm curious to know what type if spider this is. He has spun a web outside sliding glass door and I want to know if he's a harmless spider. I don't want to move him If he's harmless.

TangledWeb

Hi, thanks for asking. She’s a cross orbweaver, Araneus diadematus. She is a calm spider that will only bite if she feels she is at risk, such as if she were on a chair and you put your leg on top of her she would bite you to avoid being squished. The bite isn’t considered medically significant, about the same as a wasp sting. She will probably spend all of her time in the web or hiding on the edge of it. It looks like she has caught quite a few bugs.
