Hi, I don’t know tarantulas well enough to suggest a species and not knowing where this one really orignated (is it a CA native or originally from somwehere else?) can make things more difficult. You might have better luck at arachnoboards.com, I think they have a section there dedicated to IDing pet tarantulas.
