Comments & ID Thoughts

Initially I thought black widow but it doesn’t have distinct red hourglass markings. I only see slight red marks.

Hi, if the white marks on the abdomen are from camera flash it is probably Steatoda grossa, a false widow. If there are actual white markings it might be Steatoda noblis, a noble false widow.

Steatoda borealis might be more likely. Steatoda grossa doesnt quite look right for this as they have slimmer/thinner legs, and Steatoda nobilis isn’t introduced to Connecticut according to ID sites like bugguide.
