Emptying out a property where the old tenants used to own a exotic pet shop. There are genuinely thousands of these little spiders in it and was wondering what they are? Thanks

This is the Long-bodied Cellar Spider, Pholcus phalangioides. They are common inside buildings, especially where it is darker and cooler, like basements. This is an interesting species that shows some sub-social behaviour. The female carries her egg sac around until the young hatch and they will often live with her in the maternal web. As she continues to hatch more eggs, subsequent batches of young will also stay around the mothers web, so you can wind up with several ages and sizes of young living with the adult female.
Cool, that’s interesting!
