This is a male Giant Crab Spider, Heteropoda venatoria, one of the Huntsman Spiders in the family Sparassidae.

Is this the same thing as a Cane Spider?

I believe that is one of the names they have in some areas.

Thanks! That’s what my Kona friends call it. We have one that hangs out on the lanai hunting bugs with the geckos almost every night.
