Found this little girl outside my house in west cork, about the size of a €1 coin, thick legs and body and would run towards items put near instead of away, I'm pretty bad at identifying these kind of things but my guess was a False Widow

Hi nevioni. It’s a bit hard to tell without further detail, but I think you’re right. She looks like a larger steatoda species. Possibly steatoda grossa or s.nobilis. They’re both very skittish and will try to hide under or behind something when disturbed.

Haha:) great! I just checked my wallet and on second thought it could also be a steatoda bipunctata. Do you agree? That 1 euro coin is smaller than I thought…
Is the date the photo was taken correct? Several of the recent postings from outside USA look like the calendar function might be glitching.
