I think it is a mature female that is some type of orb weaver. I need this for a school assignment so please help.

Hi, yes she looks like a mature female. What does your teacher want you to learn? It would help if you took a photo of her ventral surface also. Spiders have different markings there too. If you can find a way, try to reduce the light intensity to decrease glare spots. I’m not sure she’s an orbweaver. There is another family of spiders, Theridiidae, that has a similar body shape.
