Comments & ID Thoughts
Dark brown with black/beige markings and brown underside. Size of a quarter. I thought this was a common grass spider. However, it was in a very thick, cottony flattened funnel type web. Web was so thick I could barely see the spider sitting on it at the seam of the ceiling/wall. Very aggro when captured too.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This is one of the Western Ageleninae (Agelenidae, Grass Spiders, Funnel Weavers). There are several similar genera out west that are tricky to discern from an image.
