It's in my office in the main part of the house. It's now been hanging in its web for se veral days. It gets very busy doing something for a little while and then just hangs. It's a little over an inch wide from leg end to leg end and about 3/4 inches front to back. Can anyone identify it?

Can you describe the web? The spider it looks like do not normally build much of a web other than a silk retreat.
Yes. It seems to be a very thin single thread web strand. Without seeing the spieder, it’s web is invisible.
It looks like on of the Crab Spiders in the family Thomisidae. Hanging from a single thread of web is consistent with this family. They use the web strand like a safety line when moving around.
