Comments & ID Thoughts
I found this beauty of a spider nestled on the back wall of my shed as we began to dismantle it for shipping to the dump (around midday). It didn't move a lot, prefering to stay still (which I presume is normal tactic). There were many other spiders hiding out in the shed but none as big as this.
It was about 3 inches long from tip of its legs, with a light grey pattern on its back. It was quite docile as I scooped it into a jar and moved it down the back of the garden.
Can anybody help me identify this spider I found in my shed? Thanks.
It is a female European House Spider, Eratigena atrica, part of the Funnel Web Weaver family Agelenidae.
