Comments & ID Thoughts

This photo is enlarged. The spider body was about 3/4 inch long and about 1 1/4 inch long with the legs.

The coloring is darker in the photo than in real life. It was brown with a black marking on its back. It’s legs looked hairless.

I think it is a wolf spider but I have recently been bitten and treated for a spider bite that created an inflamed itchy bruise/wound that had a sort of bulls eye ring around a lighter hard center. I didn’t think wolf spider bites did that.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 You’re right that it is a Wolf Spider, it’s Tigrosa helluo. Unless you see the spider biting you bites can’t accurately be diagnosed by a wound, too many unrelated medical conditions present in the same way. In the case of a genuine bite … everyone’s immune system is different so the symptoms might not be the same for everyone, also secondary infection can be a factor.
