Found this guy on the side view mirror of my truck. You can see dorsal and ventral side because of mirror. I was bit by a spider recently and wondered if this guy was cause.

Hi, I’m pretty sure she is an Eriophora ravilla (Tropical Orbweaver). The website http://www.spiderzrule.com has photos of them from Texas with big white markings like yours has. Thanks for the reminder to put a mirror in my spider hunting tool kit. That is an effective way to get dorsal and ventral in a single photo. If you rest your arm on that area when you’re in the truck you may have accidentally pressed up against the spider. Orbweavers may bite when they feel trapped or pressure against their body.
