Hi does anyone know what spider this is? I found it on a structure I stand on for work. It’s in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal South Africa
It is one of the Jumping Spiders in the family Salticidae. This is a very diverse group of spiders and generally not dangerous. They are active hunters during the day and generally will bite only in self defense is grabbed accidentally, for example.
Possibly Menemerus bivittatus. There are other species in the genus in your region I’m not familiar with though that might be similar, so filing to genus.
