Comments & ID Thoughts

This was taken in South Florida, in a library, in the middle of starting to build a web (or just expelling web). I’ve looked around on the internet and the closest thing I could find that compared to this guy visually was a yellow sac spider. I’m not sure how common they are. The spider was about an inch long including legs. Thoughts? I apologize for the quality of the photo, it’s a screenshot from a video.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 I think the abdomen (spider’s butt) is too wide to be a Yellow Sac Spider (Cheiracanthium mildei). It might be an orb-weaver which would be an odd thing to find in a library. I can’t make much out here though.

Yes, that is what I was thinking, my first thought was Eriophora ravilla (Tropical Orbweaver). But I can’t be sure of anything from this.
