Hi, this is an Orb-weaver (Araneidae). I need to familiarize myself better with the species that occur in your region but no species of Orb-weaver is considered to be of medical significance to people.

Thanks for helping out identify the guy. Australia is full of spiders and I’m keen to know more about them (and which ones i better avoid .;)
