Comments & ID Thoughts
A green crab spider is what I think it is but I'm in southern California. At chantry flats specifically.

I’m just trying to figure out if I found a spider that’s indigenous to California or if I found a hitchhiker from another land.
Hi. A crab spider in the Thomisidae family, probably one of your local sorts.
There are quite a few species to find in SoCal.
Something that is making it hard to ID is that some crab spiders can change colors to match the background. I think this is one of them. It has some reddish purple color change from green or from pale yellow.
