Comments & ID Thoughts

This spider crawled over me in bed. It was very fast and almost jumping. Does anyone know what it is?

It looks like one of the House Spiders, one of the Eratigena species in the Funnel Web Weaver family Agelenidae. Adults, especially males, often wander about at night looking for mates.

Hi. They are capable of biting but don’t run around biting people. trapping against skin and they cant run, bites are possible. Not a dangerous spider, for most, a bite is nothing more than a nuisance bite like ants. They do produce venom, so unknown how you would handle that.
They do nothing to me, just a brief iritation.
As for more, they don’t live communally and usually combat with like genders.
House spiders though can live and breed indoors.
You won’t have more around than there are insects to feed them.
