My initial thought is it some type of wolf spider. Though the wolf spiders I commonly see are the ones with the two distinct black stripes down its abdomen. This is from Coventry Rhode Island where there's not very many poisonous or exotic spider species. Found in my bathtub and it was about 1 1/2" - 1 3/4" from front left leg to rear right leg.

Hi. Might be a male barn funnel weaver (domestic house spider) Not much certainty, I couldn’t enhance to make the eyes.

This is a Funnel Weaver (Agelenidae)in the genus Coras.
