Is this a Johnson jumping spider and is it poison my grandson found it on his toy

looks like a female Phiddipus johnsoni, you’re right! every spider has some level of venom– otherwise they wouldn’t be able to incapacitate prey– but jumping spiders are some of the least likely to bite humans (since if they feel threatened they can just jump away) and their bite can sometimes be painful, but is far from life-threatening unless you have a rare allergy. jumpers are some of the most inquisitive and laid-back spiders out there, and they have excellent vision so they’re not easily taken by surprise. this little lady (females have the stripe down the back, males don’t) was… Read more »
