Hi, perhaps one of the trap door spiders, not enough detail to peg,
Thanks for the quick response. I was startled when I first saw it because I almost stepped on it. I thought it was a large spider. I would say it was around a half dollar size. It was jet black as you can tell from the picture. white spot on part of its leg that connected to its cephalothorax. It also had some light markings in the middle to the thorax.

For certain, this is no plastic toy. I know the legs are in an odd position,but nothing to suggest a genuine spider. Dead is possible.
