Wow, I thought for sure it was a spider. I was sitting outside a few minutes ago. It must have fallen on me. I think red spiders are somewhat poisonous, so I was concerned. Thanks for the info. Can go outside without that concern.
Actually..sorry about this, I read that assassin bugs can have very strong painful bites. Maybe it was just the species of assassin bug nymph that had been crawling on me that I read about 🙂
TW,this is one of those black bugs with the red butt that curves up. They can bite like a mosquito, but on steroids so yea, you are very likely to feel it their broboscis is somewhat like a stinger. Had plenty of more painful bites and stings. I bred a good colony of them for the garden, as they are one of the good bugs. For the poster here, there are lots of spiders with red colors and patterns which is no sign of their toxicity. Only the black widows with the nefarious red hourglass pattern may pose risk. Mine was a nymph Zelus luridus, which is an Eastern species. It was bright yellow-green with bright yellow and red markings. They’re shaped different than the other ones- narrower. Very nice colors.
Hi, this is an insect. What appear to be the first pair of legs are antennae. Assassin Bug Nymphs look similar to this.
