The eyeshine (light reflected by the eyes of some nocturnal animals) suggests that this is a wolf spider. I can’t see it clearly enough to be more specific. It’s okay to get closer. I do understand, sometimes critters DO fling themselves at your face to scare you away. I need to start wearing goggles when I go out to take nature photos.
Being on the wall however suggests that it isn’t a Wolf Spider (Lycosidae), they’re not good at scaling smooth surfaces. Probably a closely related family though, like Pisauridae.
