It’s genus Argiope, I’m not sure of the species. The yellow projections are odd. We’ll keep working on it, thank you for posting!
Thank you for identifying it! I found it outside and tried to get better pictures but it was so sunny and the glare was intense. Sadly I lost track of it the next day. But thank you very much all the same!
Hi. I see one of the Lobata group here (Lobed Argiope) this one is unusual for US natives called silver Argiope, another the Florida Argiope.
Perhaps an accidental additive from Mexico and south.
Hi, back. what I come up with ia Argiope Lobata-Hellinic version. Likely a color morph.
