Comments & ID Thoughts

Was unbundling some firewood that had against our siding on the deck in order to put in storage container when saw it between the firewood.
Took photo and Google Lens says spider is a False Black Widow? Don't know if was right?
Moved piece of firewood aside so hopefully spider goes elsewhere.
Thanks for any ideas of what is.

Hi. the web sure looks cobweb spider, not certain of the genus/species though.
This looks to be the venter, so not one of the widows, cant match to Steatoda either(false widows)
Surely someone here can peg this for you.
Closer inspection, could be dorsal, and only suggest tube web spider.
Looks to be eating well so may stay put.

It works great for plants, especially flowers and single leaves. Spiders just have too many factors to consider for identification that involve experience and knowledge. You’re better off with a… Read more »
