Comments & ID Thoughts
Do not know what kind this is - he/she was making a web outside on the siding by my door going to my deck. He/she opened up so I could take this picture. I asked if he/she would open up so I could get a better shot and he/she did!

I didn’t notice the web until I looked at this picture I posted – could not see it on my phone. The spider is maybe about the size of a quarter in diameter when open.
Hi. This is an orb weaver, looks maybe a juvenile Larinioides species, furrow orb weaver.
Yea their web may be thin, but very strong.
Thick as a pencil, it could stop a 747 airliner at speed.
A her BTW.
Thank you. I checked the pictures on this site after I posted this and thought that the orb weaver was the only one that matched those amazing markings. I guess she plans to stay for a while with her healthy web. I have closed and locked my door which is right next to her web!
Hi, see above image for ID. 🙂
Thank you!
