Comments & ID Thoughts
This spider was just hanging out on the brick front of the fireplace while I built a fire in the living room. It has since stayed put. It looks similar to several of the species I have seen while trying to find a match. The main difference I noticed was that while most of the ones it resembles have rings around or solid bars of black around the legs, the specimen I photographed has more of a mottled or spotted marking pattern.

Hi. I can only suggest something like a black lace weaver, Amaurobiidae family. Not a dangerous sort, nor aggressive.
