Comments & ID Thoughts
This is the second of two spiders I found in an Amazon parcel delivery box.
I have no knowledge of spiders so I won’t even guess, but ‘common things are common’, so I imagine it’s not anything rare.

Hi there this spider may be a Amaurobius ferox (Black Lace-Weaver):3
Thank you! You were very quick!!
This is one of the Ground Spiders (Gnaphosidae) – tentative at species level because it’s a big family with a lot of easy to confuse species, and I don’t know where your Amazon package has been … the likely suspect though is Scotophaeus blackwalli – commonly known as Mouse Spider but not to be confused with other unrelated medically significant species (Missulena spp.) that share the same common name. You may be able to find out what Amazon warehouse packaged the item from a code on the shipping label. We have warehouse codes on American Amazon labels. You can search the code online for the location. For example, mine say BOS5, which is a distribution warehouse in Stoughton, Massachusetts, USA.
