Any ideas what made this, no zoom and is on side of porch, I have read the egg sack is similar in size to the spider that made it usually? Any ideas?
It may be an insect egg sack. I haven’t seen one like it. I don’t know if spiders are equally proportional to their egg sacks. It seems roughly true. Insects generally don’t guard their eggs (with exceptions), but spiders often do. More or less, depending on the species. If you haven’t seen anything guarding the eggs or spider webs nearby, it might be an insect’s eggs or chrysalis.
