A lot of these guys hanging around on the rocks surrounding the fire pit. This guys had some type of parasite looking red stowaways.

Help identify this spider
Hi, this is looks like an arachnid, but not a spider. Looks like a Harvestman (Opiliones) covered in parasitic mites (more arachnids).
Thanks! I saw one in the day and it had large pedipalps. It seemed like a lot of males looking for mates.
It’s mating time on the West Coast! Here’s something odd I just learned about Opiliones: they actually mate with their penises. if you’re wondering why that’s odd…..spiders don’t.
