- Spider: Araneidae (Orb-weavers)
- Location: Santa Maria, California, United States
- Spotted Outdoors: Man-made structure (building wall, fences, etc.),High foliage (includes trees and tree trunks)
- Found in web?: No
- Attributes: Dorsal
Possibly Larinioides cornutus (Furrow Orb-weaver). Not positive as the condition it’s in and lighting are disorienting. Metepeira may also look similar.
It really looks like the Furrow orb-weaver you mentioned as I compare with pictures found online
Is there a way to calibrate the color on the microscope? I used photo filtering on the image, it clearer with the colors removed, like a black and white photo.
Unfortunately, no. I did take some other pictures with my phone camera but I don’t know how to add them to this post.
You can post additional photos individually as new posts or you can put a link to a photo in the discussion. Multiple photos can be made into a collage to post them as a single photo. Sorry we don’t have an easier way yet.
