Hey all, my wife found this spider on our scrap wood pile. I’m hoping it’s a false black widow. There were a couple smaller brown ones around as when I went looking but they scurried away.

Looks like a female Latrodectus hesperus (Black widow) rather than the Steatoda grossa (False black widow) species which is brownish in color, has fine hairs and the abdomen has a more narrower oval shape
