The spider in this image is only 1 inch tall, and doesn't appear to be a yellow garden spider. I send it to you to see if you recognized as anything else?
I witnessed the arachnid between leaves on a mature lavender plant.

This is a Black and Yellow Argiope, it looks so different because it’s still immature.
