Comments & ID Thoughts

I've been seeing these guys come in my renovated basement for about a month now. They seem to be invasive in nature due to how many I've seen.

Can someone tell me if these are dangerous (venomous) or if I should not be alarmed?

Hi, this is a Brown Relcuse (Loxosceles reclusa, ID to species based on range). They are considered to be of medical significance but best not to be too alarmed. For as common as they are bites are rare, serious reactions even more rare. You can reduce the number of spiders you find in your home by sealing cracks around floors doors, windows, foundation, etc. Vacuum everywhere and empty the canister outside. Sticky traps can be used behind furniture where the floor meets the wall.
