I think it is the wood lice hunter as we do have a lot of wood lice around the outside and a few have been known to get it , but I have never seen this type of spider in the house in all my 45 years

Probably. It’s something in the genus Dysdera which includes the Woodlouse Hunter Dysdera crocata. Another similar species in the vicinity is Dysdera erythrina and I don’t think I can reliably tell the two apart.
