Hi, this is a Wolf Spider (Lycosidae) in the genus Hogna.
Hogna carolinensis
Nope, lenta group – Florida has a lot of similar species.
Since we have a lot of new people, have you ever considered adding (Moderator) in some way to your username?
I do have “Moderator” under my name. I don’t see it when I’m on my phone but it shows up on my PC and iPad.
That’s weird, I’m using an iPad with Safari as the browser. I don’t see anything about you being identified as the moderator. Same for my Android phone (where this site is nearly impossible to navigate and the ads overwhelm it. Are you using Firefox on both your pc and ipad?
No, phone and iPad are both Safari. I figured it was a mobile thing.
