I think this is the Orb Weaver Spider. It was very large and beautiful. The web was a span of at least one to one in a half feet diameter and it had three main connecting pole webs not sure what to call them. He was brown with dark brown maybe dark orange markings. Sometimes his legs would go in a position where it looked like he only had two legs on each side.
