Comments & ID Thoughts

It caught my attention because it stopped when I walked up and seemed to follow my movements and it reared back at on point.

Phiddipus audax – Bold jumping spider. Jumping spiders are very aware of people because of their large forward facing eyes. Researchers say they can even see the moon – but not quite as well as we can. They need great eyesight because they hunt by waiting for prey then pouncing on it – much like a cat. Also like a cat they have been known to chase after laser pointers!

Most likely it “reared back” because it was nervous about you or your camera.

But don’t Phidippus Audux have a more blue colored fangs?? So since this spider has green fangs this most likely a Phidippus Regius

Adele

Nope, Bold jumpers can have blue or green fangs.
