Please let me know if you have any ideas as to what kind of spider this is. It was my first thought when I saw it, is it poisonous? And 2, it has similar colors to a timber rattler, a type of diamond back rattler.
Hi, it’s a fishing spider in genus Dolomedes. They inhabit the same wooded types of areas as Timber Rattlers. I think the markings pattern on them resembles the bark on a tree trunk (or fallen branch).
