Found this while cleaning up in my basement in Walton Kentucky. Moved a bag and almost grabbed it with my hand. Its body was about an inch long and each leg was about an inch long as well. 3 inches altogether. Would have fit in the palm of my hand. The web was a thick web...

I quickly grabbed a box and lid and took it outside…. I knew it was big, but it was bigger than I thought it was. Kept turning and following me…. couple of times ran after me!
This is a dark fishing spider, Dolomedes tenebrosus. Thanks for moving it outdoors where it belongs!
