Comments & ID Thoughts
Not sure what spider this is. Found him/her in my kitchen, chilling on the floor in a corner. Disturbed it with my broom and cupped it to prevent the dog eating it.
S/he doesn't seem to have any distinctive markings like a giant house spider or a labyrinth spider, just orangy brown legs, an oval type bum and a purple-red main body. (S/he's missing one leg but I don't know if my broom did it).
I'm intrigued as to what species this is but I also want to know if I can release it outside or if it prefers the indoors where I found it.

This is the woodlouse spider, Dysdera crocata. They like to eat pill bugs.
So, it would be happy where there is rotting wood or moist cool soil, that’s where the pill bugs are.
