This is a wolf spider (family Lycosidae) carrying her babies on her abdomen.
We just found the same spider in our garden as we were planting 6/20/2019, NW of Shepherd, MT.on our 5 acre home. It too had many yellow spots on its back that were the rear ends of tiny baby spiders. When we caught it in a jar, many of the babies fell off, but scrambled right back on mama. We caught it because we were worried that it was a brown recluse which we did not need to have a million little ones. Need to verify that it is NOT poisonous. We babysit 2 little girls and want to be careful.
None of the wolf spiders have medically significant venom. They are unlikely to bite, and if they do, it’s no worse than a bee sting.
