This was found at my home in the garden, in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Not found on any web, but on my son's bike.
I would have thought it a beetle of some kind, if it weren't for the eight long black legs.

This looks like the Platythomisus Sudeepi, which is a NEW one for the taxonomy page.
If another website is correct, this is the female of the species.
The colour is red, not orange, and there are not 8 spots like the platythomisus quadrimaculatus.
How exciting!
