Comments & ID Thoughts

Hi. I know I'm probably asking the impossible, but can anyone possibly identify these spiders? We live in an area with lots of Black Widows, Brown Widows and Brown Recluse and not long after I found these last night I had two bite marks on my body. The one on my leg is very itchy, a bit red and 2cm diameter, and the other one is smaller, not as red and barely itches. I know the Black and Brown Widow babies won't be able to cause much damage with a bite, but I know Brown Recluse can cause a lot of damage and I'm not sure if a bite from their babies can cause damage. I am quite sensitive to insect bites and they always take very long to heal (even mosquito bites), and I've already been sick with the flu for almost 2 weeks, so I can't really keep watch for 'If I start to feel sick' or something like that, so just wanted to know if there is something I should look out for and if these ones could be one of the above mentioned. Thanks in advance :)

ItsyBitsy

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 Gosh … that is a tough one. Sometimes spiderlings are impossible to ID. I would need to see one more clearly. Multiple bites are more often from blood sucking insects.

Did you see what sort of egg sac they came out of? Brown Widows (L. geometricus) have a distinct looking egg sac, a brown spiky ball. The one on the bottom left looks like it might be a ventral. Here is a Brown Widow egg sac and spiderling to compare to:
