We recently did a cavern tour on private property outside of Tulum Mexico. These spiders are about the size of your hand and live in the dark caves.

These are arachnids similar to spiders called Amblypygi. They don’t have silk or venom glands and as far as I am aware, are harmless.

Yes! That is it. Thank you. I couldn’t find it and wanted to read more about them. They sent our crew out of the caverns in a tear filled panic. Our guide told us they were harmless but they are SO creepy. Especially the way they move.
I think it might be a species of whip spider
