Sorry the photo is a bit blurry, the spider is very small (the background in the image is carpet). It is black with a broken white stripe on its back.
I think these spiders are breeding in the house. They appear for a couple months and I don't see them for several months. I have found 3 in the past two weeks now.
I usually spot them running on a wall or the floor in my office. I ahve never found webs built in the house.
Last year one came down from the ceiling about a foot from my face while I was on the computer. Then another did the same thing a couple feet away a week later. It worries me they are so brazen!
